Nice Weekend, Dawgs

It's been a struggle lately.  The end of football season left most of us feeling unsatisfied and two months of hapless basketball only made those feelings worse.  But, this past weekend should make you feel a little better.  Not only did the basketball team get a completely unexpected and inspiring win over the Gators, but Georgia's other teams performed well, too.
The gymnastics team, men's tennis team, and women's tennis team all won and all remain undefeated.  The tennis teams both advanced to the ITA indoor national championship finals.  Jamie Hunt (left) upset Stanford's Bradley Klahn, a top 10 player, to lead the men.  The guys will play UVA at 1:00 PM today for the title.  The girls get #1 Northwestern at noon.  They upset #2 Cal to get to the finals.  You can follow the men's final here and the women's final here.  (Image: georgiadogs.com)
The #20 softball team won the Red & Black Showcase by bludgeoning the hand-picked competition.  They didn't give up a run the entire weekend and scored at least 8 runs in every game.  We'll see if they can keep this up when real competition arrives.
Plus, a promising baseball season starts Friday, when Youngstown State visits Foley Field.  Maybe the weather is breaking for Georgia.  If this weekend is any indication, it should be an exciting spring.
