Last Night's Basketball Game

The Dawgs lost to Western Kentucky last night 67-63. However, it's not as bad as it sounds. WKU did beat Louisville a few days ago on the road after some tough upsets earlier in the season when they were playing with a banged up roster.

The team as a whole continues to shoot incredibly poorly from the floor, and Jeremy Price continues to struggle to produce any offense whatsoever. I'm assuming that as he grows used to his new body (he dropped 20+ pounds this off season) he'll perform at a higher level.

As I understand it, Felton didn't give Trey Thompkins more minutes because he's not as familiar with the 1-3-1 defense due to all the practice time he missed with injuries.

This isn't a "bad loss" for the Dawgs; however, it does put more pressure on the team for the Illinois game Saturday (ESPNU) and the Virginia Tech game Tuesday (FSNS) at home. Felton absolutely must win one of those two games to keep the wolves at bay and to keep fans interested. TV games are advertisements for his product, and we've got to start winning TV games to put butts in seats and recruits on the commit list.
