Barnhart "just got off the phone with Will Muschamp," and he emphatically stated that he will not be coaching Auburn next season. Muschamp's language was extremely specific in Barnhart's quotes. So the search continues.
Separately, I'm with Barnhart who earlier asked if Auburn fans were joking about being interested in Steve Spurrier. Spurrier will be 64 years old entering next season. Auburn has long term problem starting with a complete absence of SEC caliber quarterbacks. In four years with the Gamecocks, Spurrier has proven that even the Evil Genius needs a competent pro-style QB to win ball games. Generally speaking, long term problems require a long term solution, but don't let that sort of logic get in the Auburn Administration's way.
