Georgia lost to Missouri in Hoops

Missouri beat Georgia 83-76 on Saturday. Chip Towers nails the story line perfectly in this one saying, "Missouri had better athletes and more of them and that was the difference." Yep. That's pretty much it.

This wasn't about Felton's offensive or defensive scheme. It was about Missouri having players who could give full court pressure for 40 minutes and play intelligent defense when we got into the half court set.

Good players commit fewer turnovers than bad players. And freshman commit fewer more turnovers than veterans. The bill for our recruiting and attrition simply came due. Thus, our 23 turnovers became 30 Missouri points.

However, all the news isn't bad. The SEC appears to be very down this year. Missouri (12-2) would fare favorably to the better SEC teams not named Tennessee. Going forward, we won't face many teams that can expose our offensive problems as easily as Missouri did.

When Woodbury is healthy, we can play fairly even at home with the bottom half of the SEC. We will do especially well when he's healthy and shooting like he was Saturday (27 points).

I like our chances against Tech on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm. I'd like our chances more if Woodbury or Trey would touch the ball on EVERY possession.

Tickets for the GT game are available via RamblingWreck.com for $30 each.
